To nurture well-rounded, confident, and empowered women who are intellectually curious, morally upright, and socially responsible, enabling them to contribute positively to their communities and the wider society, while embracing equality, inclusivity, and progressive values in every aspect of life.
To provide high-quality education, promote personal and intellectual growth, and cultivate cultural and ethical refinement in an inclusive environment that fosters mutual respect, collaboration, and the holistic development of women.
The area of Tehsil Pattoki, District Kasur was completely deprived of a girls’ college before September 1986. Considering the importance of women’s education, Degree College for Women Pattoki was established in September 1986 through the personal efforts of the then MPA, Sardar Muhammad Arif Nakai. Initially, FA classes were started in a small building located on Allama Iqbal Road under the Municipal Committee.
Due to limited space, BA classes could not be conducted. In February 1988, under the leadership of the then Deputy Commissioner Kasur, Mr. G. M. Sikandar, a meeting was held to resolve the building issue. With the collective efforts of administrative officers, a government-owned cotton factory building was allotted to the college.
On February 25, 1988, the college took possession of the building and regular teaching began the same day. The total area allotted was 31 kanals and 185 feet. However, legal complications arose regarding the possession of the building. After years of legal proceedings, the High Court ruled in favor of the college in December 1997. An appeal filed in the Supreme Court was also unsuccessful.
Mrs. Tasneem Khanum joined as Principal on January 16, 1994, and played a vital role in resolving legal issues and strengthening the institution’s foundation. Through her dedication, ownership matters were settled and the development of the college accelerated significantly.
Mrs. Tasneem Khanum secured a government grant of Rs. 29.656 million, which enabled the construction of a multi-purpose hall, four classrooms, two lecture rooms, and installation of a turbine.
Subsequent principals including Mrs. Naseem Nawaz, Mrs. Bushra Parveen, Mrs. Samina Naseem, Mrs. Sobia Irshad, Mrs. Naveed Akhtar, and Dr. Yasmin Ashraf contributed significantly to the development of the college. Facilities such as a basketball court, electric coolers, student transport, new academic blocks, and BS programs were introduced.
ICS classes were started in 2015. Later, B.Sc. and BS classes were introduced. A grant of Rs. 109.500 million was approved for the construction of a new academic block. Continuous improvements are being made to enhance academic excellence and student facilities.
